In addition to the upcoming holidays events and the ability to transfer backup and user data in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, gamers can now take advantage of the ability to expand their home storage even further.
Home storage is extremely important in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as it allows players to store additional clothing, resources, fossils, furniture and everything in between, without having to throw them on their island.
The New Horizons 1.6 update will increase the home’s inventory from 800 to 2,400 items, tripling the storage. While the expansion is great, it will cost players money and time.
HOW TO EXPAND THE HOME INVENTORY TO 2,400 IN ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS
Players who want to spend their house inventory in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will need to speak with Tom Nook in Resident Services. However, you must first have your home renovated to its highest point. We will see how to do this below, but if you already have your house as large as possible, you will have the option of immediately expanding your storage space.
Players will want to have 500,000 bells on hand to pay for this upgrade, which you will need right away. Once you have the necessary bells and your home is fully upgraded, follow these steps to expand your storage space:
- Head to Resident Services.
- Talk to Tom Nook.
- Tell Tom Nook you want to talk about “About my house”.
- Then select “Expand my storage”.
- Tom Nook will explain to you that you will have to pay these fees up front and that you cannot afford loans. If you have the right amount of money, select “Yes, let’s do it!” “
- Once you’ve paid, players will have to wait until the next morning.
ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS HOUSE LEVELING GUIDE
When you start to play New Horizons, you will have a tent on your new private island. Tom Nook will ask you to pay 5,000 Nook Miles to cover the trip and the tent. There are a few things you can do to earn the Nook Miles you need to pay off your debt.
Then you can move from a tent to a house by taking out a loan. Get used to this system by New Horizons because whenever you want to expand / modernize your home, you will need to take out a loan from Tom Nook.
The first loan is 98,000 bells, once you pay off the first loan you will be eligible to upgrade and take out a new one. Here are the costs for the rest of the upgrades:
- 198,000 bells
- 348,000 bells
- 548,000 bells
- 758,000 bells
- 1,248,000 bells
- 2,498,000 bells
