Ithaca man pleads guilty to ‘attempted online seduction of minor’ after law enforcement injecting surgery


BINGHAMTON, NEW YORK –– Jeffrey Blake, man from Ithaca, pleaded guilty to “trying to seduce a minor online” this week after law enforcement caught him talking explicit messages with undercover agents and schedule a meeting.

As part of his guilty plea, Blake, 50, admitted that between June 12, 2019 and August 23, 2019, he texted with an undercover federal agent, “he believed to be the mother of 9 girls. and 13 years “in which he expressed his desire to meet the children and engage in illegal sexual activities. According to the announcement of the charges by the US Attorney’s Office, Blake also communicated via text message with the undercover agent posing as each of the children.

Blake and the officer finally made plans to meet and on August 23, 2019, he traveled to a predetermined location in Broome County, taking with him sexual devices and contraceptives, as well as necklaces, bracelets, earrings and soft toys he had planned. to give to children as a gift. Blake was arrested at the scene.

He now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a maximum fine of $ 250,000 and a supervised release sentence of five years to life. He will also have to register as a sex offender.

Judgment is scheduled for September.
