Making miniatures with SIM cards is a hobby of Lenin Kumar, originally from Nemmikal village of Nuthankal mandal in Suryapet district. The miniatures he prepared range from structures of national significance to local structures.

He built a 4.5 inch miniature of Hitec city and an eight inch Charminar among several others and he even colored them to give an attractive look.

Children from his village often came to his house to look at these miniature structures and Lenin took the opportunity to explain the history and details of these structures to these children.

Speaking to Telangana Today, Lenin said being a mason helped him use his skills to build the miniature structures. He added that he collected the frames of SIM cards from mobile phone shops in Suryapet, 16 km from his place of residence. He said that most of the customers leave the SIM card frames after removing the SIM cards from the mobile phone stores themselves. He said the Hitec City miniature, which he built using 50 frames of SIM cards, was his best so far.

He added that many people showed up to buy the miniature structures, but added that he was not interested in making money from them. He said he would donate the best of his miniatures to a local school or library and hoped that this would help him bring more recognition to the art as well as impart knowledge about the famous structures of the city to children. country.

He said his dream is to make miniatures of old forts with SIM card frames and conduct an exhibition.
